Your class stays on your classroom computer. Here is exactly what that means, and the little we do collect.

Last updated 16 October 2026

The short version

Class Reward is a free reward board for classrooms. There are no accounts and no sign-up. Everything you type into your classes, including your students' names, stays in the browser on your classroom computer. We never receive it. We do use Google Analytics to count visits to the website, and Crisp for the support chat. Neither one receives your class or student information.

What we collect

Nothing about your students reaches us. We don't show ads, and we never sell information. We collect two kinds of information:

  • Visit statistics. We use Google Analytics to see how many people visit, which pages they open, and roughly where they come from (country and city, device and browser type). This helps us improve Class Reward. In the app, every page is reported only as “/app”, so your class names never go to Google.
  • Support chats. If you start a chat with us, we receive the messages you send and anything you choose to share, like your email address. Please don't include students' names or other details about students in a chat.

Where your class is saved

Your classes are saved in your browser's local storage, on the computer you use. That includes:

  • Class and island names
  • Students' first names or nicknames, and their animals
  • Stars, class goals, the journal and your settings

We do not upload this information. You can download a backup file containing student names, class settings and saved progress, and restore it on another computer or browser. Keep those files private. If you clear your browser’s site data, recovery requires a backup you previously downloaded; changes made after that download cannot be recovered. You can remove a student, or reset an island, in Settings. To remove everything, clear the site data for Class Reward in your browser.

The microphone

The noise monitor is optional and stays off until you turn it on. Your browser asks for permission first. While it's on, Class Reward measures how loud the room is, on your computer, to change the weather on the island. Sound is never recorded, saved or sent anywhere. You can turn the microphone off at any time.

Students

Students don't sign in and don't type anything in. We suggest using first names or nicknames only. Because class information never leaves the classroom computer, and visit statistics and the support chat are for teachers, we don't collect personal information from children.

Other services

To load the website, your browser also talks to a few services we rely on:

  • Google Fonts. Our fonts come from Google, so your browser asks Google for the font files. Google receives your IP address when it does. You can read Google's privacy policy.
  • Google Analytics. Google Analytics sets cookies in your browser and receives your IP address, device and browser details, and the pages you visit on our website. Google uses these to produce visit statistics for us. You can read how Google uses information from sites that use its services, or block it with the Google Analytics opt-out add-on.
  • Crisp. Our support chat is run by Crisp. The chat bubble appears on the website and on the app's home screen, but never while a class is on screen. Crisp sets cookies to keep your conversation going between visits, and receives your IP address, browser details, the address of the page you are on (in the app, that can include a class name) and any messages you send. You can read Crisp's privacy policy.
  • Our web host. Like most websites, the company that hosts Class Reward may keep standard server logs, such as IP addresses and the pages requested, to keep the site running and secure.

Cookies

Class Reward itself doesn't use cookies. Your classes are saved in your browser's local storage, as described above. Only Google Analytics and Crisp set cookies, for the purposes described in this policy. You can clear or block cookies in your browser settings, and Class Reward will keep working.

Changes to this policy

If we change how Class Reward handles information, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
